Baseball Tops sweep UNO

14 03 2010

Well, Chris Finwood’s club certainly has a flair for the dramatic this season.

WKU completed a three-game sweep of New Orleans on the road this afternoon to start off Sun Belt Conference play 3-0 with yet another late-game victory.

For the second straight day, the Hilltoppers rallied for a comeback victory – this time scoring a whopping six runs in the top of the tenth inning to grab a 13-7 victory.

WKU is now 12-4 (3-0 SBC) on the season entering a Tuesday-Wednesday home and home contest with Vanderbilt.

The Tops will travel to Vanderbilt on Tuesday before coming home to face the Commodores at Nick Denes Field on Wednesday.

I’ll be at the park Wednesday (first pitch slated for 3 p.m.), so look for more on the WKU baseball team later this week.
