See you next week

6 06 2010

Just an FYI to everyone out there, I’ll be out of the office starting Sunday, June 6 to Sunday, June 12 as part of a required one-week furlough from the paper.

So don’t be alarmed if there aren’t any posts on the blog during that time. If anything wild happens though, my Daily News co-workers will be waiting on the edge of their seats to bring any new news to you.

Have a fantastic week and I’ll see you all again on Monday, June 13.

ESPN sez Kansas wants to keep Big XII and add………..
play good basketball.

So they are not only interested in football, but as a basketball power want to add schools that play decent basketball. I do know that the five left over Big XII schools were busy with a conference call today. Just another rumor floating around or wanting to rebuild ? Here’s a post from the Mean green board.

According to ESPN radio, Kansas does not want to go to the MWC. They want to keep the remaining members and add some to make it a better basketball conference.

No mention of basketball here, but they are talking

This development would seem to imply inviting 6-8 Big East members.

Sooooo…. Memphis? And who else? Louisville? Cincinnatti? Hmmmm.

This strikes me as a bad move for a BCS conference. Look at the Big East. Killer in basketball… but flirting with losing BCS status because of football.

No this is Brilliant Get the top Basketball Programs in NCAA History that will come that have 1A Football. You are going to have a kick *** basketball league and you use it as a bargaining chip.

Now whenever the 16 team super conferences a few years down the road try to limit or break away the 16 team Basketball league has too big a following not to be included. You already have basketball at a high level so you just all improve Football.

Here is a few schools I might recognize That have unquestioned basketball history:
