WKU basketball: Kerusch nursing sore foot

2 11 2010

Western Kentucky senior forward Sergio Kerusch is currently nursing a sore left foot, and was on crutches today during practice according to WKU sports information.

WKU sports info told the Daily News tonight that the crutches are a precautionary device as of now, and at current moment, Kerusch is not expected to miss any significant time.

WKU should know more about the situation in the coming days, but for now, it seems that resting the foot is needed.

The Hilltoppers will host Xavier (La.) for their second and final exhibition game Thursday at E.A. Diddle Arena.

Kerusch missed 14 games last season with a broken right foot.

Voted by Sun Belt Conference coaches as the league’s Preseason Player of the Year, Kerusch finished the 2009-10 season averaging 14.3 points and 7.2 rebounds per game.

Was at the game Sunday. It appeared Kerusch tweaked his ankle/foot and was clearly favoring it thereafter. Yet the staff didn’t pull him from the game right away. Related?
