Minnesota 40, WKU 34 – halftime

WKU led by as many as three, but poor shooting and problems with Minnesota’s defense have resulted in a six-point halftime defecit.

The Golden Gophers have held WKU to just 14 of 36 shooting, and the Hilltoppers have already hoisted 16 3-pointers – only making five.

Minnesota, meanwhile, is 14 of 25 from the field and 5 of 9 from deep.

Sergio Kerusch leads all scorers with 11 points and eight rebounds, while Steffphon Pettigrew has added 10 for WKU. Juan Pattillo spent most of the first half on the bench with two fouls.

Point guard Al Nolen and center Ralph Sampson III lead Minnesota with nine points each.
