The Daily News received confirmation from Western Kentucky this morning that four players from the 2010 Hilltopper football team are no longer with the program.

Freshman defensive back Jerome Speights, junior defensive lineman Korentheus Bailey, freshman receiver Donald Campbell and freshman offensive lineman Dalton Diehl are no longer a part of the team.

No reason was given for the departure of any player.

During Signing Day on Wednesday, WKU coach Willie Taggart said that “a few” players had not returned to the team for the start of the second semester.

Speights and Diehl redshirted last season, while Campbell caught four passes for 44 yards. Bailey made seven tackles in eight games.

The Daily News confirmed in December that junior quarterback Matt Pelesasa – a rising senior – also has left the program.
