Per WKU release:

The Hilltopper Athletic Foundation has added former WKU basketball player Kyle Chapman to its staff as a Major Gift Officer responsible for securing gifts for the athletic department.

Chapman joined the HAF in February 2011 and will be responsible for developing relationships with WKU supporters and potential donors to solicit and close gifts in support of capital projects, scholarship endowments and annual fund operations.

A Bowling Green native, Chapman graduated from WKU in 1999 and was a member of the Hilltopper basketball team. He was the team captain during the 1998-99 season and was named the Scholar Athlete of the Year after his senior season. In addition, Chapman is one of only two Hilltopper players to win the E.A. Diddle Award on two occasions, which is given to the individual who displays leadership, character, loyalty, ability and love for his fellow man.

As a part of the HAF staff, Chapman will manage a portfolio of approximately 200 prospects comprised of annual donors, major gift prospects, parents, former student-athletes and friends. He will also play a supporting role in WKU’s comprehensive capital campaign.

Chapman returns to WKU after spending the last 11 years working in the NASCAR industry, where he gained a wealth of experience with sponsorships, marketing and public relations. He most recently worked at Richard Childress Racing (RCR), where in 2010, he worked primarily with the No. 29 team and driver, Kevin Harvick, as they won three races and nearly captured the NASCAR Sprint Cup Championship.

Prior to working at RCR, Chapman ran his own company and represented several NASCAR drivers, including Jason Keller, J.J. Yeley and Jeremy Clements.
