Abraham Lincoln (N.Y.) High School point guard Shaquille Stokes told the Daily News on Tuesday that the Western Kentucky coaching staff has made contact with him and have shown interest in signing him to their 2011 recruiting class.
Stokes indicated that the interest is still in the early stages, and that he’s been speaking with both WKU assistant coach Lawrence Brenneman – as well as friend (and WKU signee) Derrick Gordon.
Stokes – a 6-0 pound point guard – has reported offers from UNLV, TCU and Iowa, according to Rivals.com.
ESPN grades Stokes as an 86, and lists his as the 81st best point guard prospect in the 2011 class.
