nick-simpson over antonio andrews at RB?

Bob,

All this is still so early, half of it could change prior to game week – and in my experience, it probably will.

Remember that Antonio Andrews spent a portion of spring on the sideline with a broken hand, so Keshawn Simpson did his best to make up for lost time.

I think that situation is one to reward Simpson more than it is to punish Andrews – SImpson had a nice camp, so the staff felt, and it appears they wanted to give him motivation moving forward.

Antonio Andrews will still get on the field in the fall – and a true freshman RB might make a splash as well. But it looks like Keshawn Simpson may get a handful of chances to relieve Bobby Rainey before it’s all said and done.

All I know is that Andrews is too good to keep off the field.
I believe he will see time at RB as well as playing on special teams.

What happened to C. J. Odom? He led the defense in tackles during the spring game. Is he eligible for 2011-2012?

Nate, yeah I believe Odom is technically a preferred walk-on at this point – meaning he should be good to go.

And just because a guy isn’t on the post-spring two-deep, doesn’t mean he’s not going to play. He’ll be in the mix at OLB this fall after having a really solid spring.
