Ex-WKU football coach David Elson to serve as defensive coordinator for Franklin-Simpson High School

22 06 2011

Franklin-Simpson football coach Tim Schlosser told the Daily News this afternoon that former Western Kentucky football coach David Elson has joined his staff, and will serve as the Wildcats defensive coordinator next season.

Elson spent last season on the staff of former Indiana coach Bill Lynch as a defensive quality control coach.

As most recall, Elson was fired by WKU midway through what turned into a winless 2009 football season at WKU.

Elson finished his tenure at WKU with a 39-44 record – a 2-22 mark over his final two seasons as head coach.
