Ross Bjork: No interest in Miami AD position

27 02 2011

I was able to obtain a statement from Ross Bjork through WKU spokesperson Todd Stewart today regarding the recent speculation that put Bjork as a candidate for the open Miami athletic director position.

The statement is as follows:

“Ross Bjork has not been contacted by Miami and has no interest in leaving WKU and Bowling Green. Ross has great respect for the University of Miami from his time there in 2003-05, but WKU is a special place, President Ransdell is providing great support and this is where Ross and his family want to be.”

AP lists Ross Bjork as “possible candidate” for open Miami AD job

The Associated Press listed Western Kentucky athletic director Ross Bjork as a “possible candidate” for the recently open athletic director spot at Miami.

The mention came from a speculation standpoint, and also listed FAU AD Craig Angelos as a possible replacement for the recently departed Kirby Hocutt.

Bjork worked at Miami as an associate athletic director from 2003-05.

A source close to the situation told me today that Bjork has not been contacted by Miami about the opening as of now.
